{"id":512,"date":"2018-03-16T09:43:51","date_gmt":"2018-03-16T09:43:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/2018.karachi.wordcamp.org\/?p=512"},"modified":"2018-05-22T19:33:28","modified_gmt":"2018-05-22T19:33:28","slug":"volunteer-roles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/karachi.wordcamp.org\/2018\/volunteer-roles\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteer Roles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We introduced a way to voice your preferred volunteer role during signup.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"room-staff\">Rooms manager<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"bullet_list\">\n<li>Your superpower is prioritizing and delegating.<\/li>\n<li>You are responsible for talks starting and ending on time.<\/li>\n<li>Help the speakers stay on track (timewise).<\/li>\n<li>Show the speakers the remaining time panels during their session.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"registration\">Registration<\/h3>\n<h4>Registration manager<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"bullet_list\">\n<li>You are the connection between the registration leads and the organizing team.<\/li>\n<li>You are coordinating the attendee registration with the Registration leads.<\/li>\n<li>You know what\u2019s going on at the different desks and take action when needed.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWelcome to WordCamp Karachi 2018\u201d is your line and you\u2019ll use it to welcome and inform attendees at the entrance.<\/li>\n<li>You check tickets.<\/li>\n<li>You prepare and hand out badges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"media-communication\">Media &amp; Communication<\/h3>\n<h4>Social media support<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"bullet_list\">\n<li>You write posts and share pictures during the sessions and post directly on the WCKHI social media accounts.<\/li>\n<li>You interact with people who are commenting on posts.<\/li>\n<li>You support attendees that ask for help using social media.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>PR support<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"bullet_list\">\n<li>You\u2019ll find and share news during the event.<\/li>\n<li>You prepare and set up interviews.<\/li>\n<li>You make sure all Media supporters and Media partners get updates before, during the conference.<\/li>\n<li>You are the liaison between the all Universities, perspective collaborative and media publications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"speaker-sponsor\">Speakers &amp; Sponsors Support<\/h3>\n<h4>Speaker wrangler manager<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"bullet_list\">\n<li>You are in charge and responsible for the team of speaker wranglers.<\/li>\n<li>You participate in the smooth running of the talks.<\/li>\n<li>The connector between the speaker wranglers and the Content team is YOU.<\/li>\n<li>You are responsible for speakers arriving in the right track on time.<\/li>\n<li>You assist the speakers with tech check and setup and everything else they might need.<\/li>\n<li>Finally, you\u2019ll be guiding the speakers back to the Green Room after their session.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Design wrangler<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"bullet_list\">\n<li>You are the first point of contact on the floor for Social Media Marketing and Branding.<\/li>\n<li>You will help in Design of all branding, social media posts and marketing related stuff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Photography &amp; Video wrangler<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"bullet_list\">\n<li>You will make sure all the videos are properly captured .<\/li>\n<li>Make sure all photographers have covered the event.<\/li>\n<li>You would be responsible to sort all videos, images and provide them on request.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"happiness\">Happiness Bar<\/h3>\n<h4>Happiness bar<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"bullet_list\">\n<li>You feel comfortable helping people with all kinds of WordPress related questions.<\/li>\n<li>If you don\u2019t know the answer you help to find a way to find the answer.<\/li>\n<li>You\u2019re the friendly and inviting face that makes people feel comfortable asking all the questions they might have.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 id=\"other\">Other<\/h3>\n<h4>Food volunteer<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"bullet_list\">\n<li>You welcome attendees to food court.<\/li>\n<li>Organize all food related arrangements and make sure everything is fulfilled in proper manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Volunteers happiness assistant<\/h4>\n<ul class=\"bullet_list\">\n<li>You take care and assist other WCKHI volunteers.<\/li>\n<li>You bring them everything they might need during their shift (Volunteer runner).<\/li>\n<li>Volunteers rely on you to handle their requests in the #volunteer Slack channel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We introduced a way to voice your preferred volunteer role during signup.
